GANIMEDE Hotel is located in a quiet place in the center of Galaxidi, just 5 minutes from its famous picturesque harbor with wonderful colorful neoclassical buildings, traditional shops and crowded beautiful cafes & restaurants. It is a 19th century captain’s house with an idyllic courtyard.

In 2003 Costas & Chrisoula Papalexi took over the hotel from the previous owner, Bruno Perrocco, who offered high quality services since 1966.

Chrisoula continued the tradition, offering homemade jams and chutney, based on recipes inherited from Bruno. Over the years she added new smells and tastes. The hotel has gained a great international reputation and Chrisoula has become accustomed to welcoming visitors from all over the world. 

The unique atmosphere of that amazing time of old Galaxidi with the gracious captains’ houses is a puzzle of many things. Beautiful bronze beds, antique furniture, collectibles, wonderful lighting & precious charming fabrics. The “captains’ houses” are the type of rich sea houses that we find on all the shores of the Mediterranean. Galaxidi has a rich tradition of such houses and Hotel “GANIMEDE” belongs to this category.

It was built in 1890 by a family of captains. The date of its construction coincides with the era of the great prosperity of Galaxidi. Its construction materials are stone and theraic earth (mixture of volcanic ash with lime). The sailors from Galaxidi always painted their floors with plastic paint, what was left of the boats. In the meanwhile the “averto”, the upper floor of the houses, was open, without walls, to handle and sew the sails of boats.

After the recent renovation, our idyllic & famous courtyard is the fairytale place to enjoy our award-winning breakfast or our very favorite HOME LIQUIDS. This sunny & charming place is the warm embrace of our hotel. For example, you can relax or plan your travel excursions. The Great Breakfast of Ganimede

Ganimede’s famous breakfast has been identified since 1966 with Galaxidi the homemade taste and the unique authentic Greek hospitality.

Dear friends have generously given us all these years their preference for our unique breakfast. They ‘ve been visiting us again and again, writing beautiful comments and recommending our space to acquaintances and friends.

In April 2014, officially, Ganimede and his breakfast were distinguished with the title “Standard Greek Breakfast of Fokida” (leader) by the competent body, the Hotel Chamber of Greece. Ganimede’s wonderful mornings quickly became known in Greece and abroad. Thus highlighting not only the hotel itself, but also the wider area of ​​Fokida. With the rich “heritage” of Bruno’s recipes and little secrets, we continue the difficult task with a lot of love and zeal for creative flavors. It’s magical to dream of our breakfast!
